They have been in the business industry for almost three decades and have a significant presence in over a hundred countries worldwide.
Shire Pharmaceuticals had a significant challenge establishing a comprehensive and effective financial business intelligence system by integrating data from diverse source systems (FBI). They needed a technological partner to help them with data warehouse approaches, Ralph Kimball’s dimensional modeling, ETL, OLAP, and report delivery methodology. The corporation is required to keep the source systems’ lowest level of detail while being able to respond to new business demands.
Shire Pharmaceuticals chose ERP Consulting as its technology partner to handle these difficulties. The team was responsible for translating high-level corporate KPI needs into functional/technical specifications, designing, developing, and deploying a data warehouse, and deploying reporting and Xcelsius dashboard services. The team wanted to merge General Ledger (GL) balances and accompanying journal data from SAP R3, Ross, and HFM sources into a reusable format that could be used for all future reporting needs utilizing Live Office XiR3.
The team designed, built, and delivered web-based financial reports and Xcelsius dashboards with interactive analytical features linked to GL actual. They developed standard Xcelsius 4.5 dashboard reports and analysis routes for Balance Sheets (BS), Profit and Loss (P&L), and Cash Flow analysis, including revenue and cost analysis based on GL data. To meet the business goals, the team built and deployed a Crystal Xcelsius dashboard with dimensional data connection utilizing Query as a Web Service (QAAWS) and Webi, Crystal Report Services.
The project was a success, and the team was able to develop solutions that satisfied the business goals of Shire Pharmaceutical. They also created performance indicators and ratios for BS and cash flows, allowing the organization to analyze its financial performance better. ERP Consulting’s solutions improved the company’s insight into its financial data, making it simpler to make informed business choices.
Shire Pharmaceuticals and ERP Consulting had a fruitful collaboration. Shire Pharmaceuticals was able to combine data from numerous source systems and construct a solid and effective financial business intelligence system due to ERP Consulting’s solutions. The capacity of the team to design, construct, and execute a data warehouse, as well as deploy reporting and Xcelsius dashboard services and generate web-based financial reports and Xcelsius dashboards, was vital to the project’s success. Shire Pharmaceuticals gained more insight into their financial data thanks to ERP Consulting’s solutions, making it simpler to make smarter business choices.
CREDIT SUISSE, NYC, NY
Credit Suisse faced an array of obstacles during its technical transformation. The requirement to create a server installation request procedure and tracking system for their provisioning department was one of the major obstacles. This required the organization to gather user requirements, design technological solutions, and develop technical documentation while balancing the system’s competing operational and non-functional demands. Another obstacle the organization encountered was debugging Business Objects difficulties and offering knowledge transfer to its employees. The technical nature of the project compelled the team to make significant architectural tradeoff judgments, which added layer of difficulty to the project.
Credit Suisse encountered logistical issues relating to project management, communication, team coordination, and technological challenges. Close collaboration between the ERP Consulting team and Credit Suisse personnel was necessary for the project’s success, and excellent communication and project management were vital. Despite these obstacles, Credit Suisse overcame them with the assistance of ERP Consulting, effectively transforming its system and operations.
Our team was integral in gathering user requirements, designing technical solutions, and developing technical documentation. We were responsible for making judgments on architectural tradeoffs between competing operational/non-functional needs of the system and troubleshooting Business Objects issues and knowledge transfer to client staff. We defined, designed, and implemented logical and physical data models for Enterprise reporting and portal applications to streamline the processes. Solutions were provided for different phases of the project life cycle, data profiling, data analysis, data warehouse methodology, data management, and report application development.
Another primary task we fulfilled was designing and deploying universes for end user’s ad GIC and corporate reporting, Dashboard reports, and KPI reports requirements. To make things better organized, our team developed various drive tables to resolve complex business rules. We created joins, contexts, and aliases for determining loops and checked the integrity of the Universes. BO reports were easily accessible through queries, cross tabs, and master detail. At the same time, they were designed using sections, combined questions, sub-queries, calculation contexts, commands, user-defined objects report folding, and calculation in crosstabs.
We could transform the system and processes using BO ad hoc reporting capabilities. With the help of Business Objects’ ad hoc reporting capabilities, the team effectively altered the system and procedures. They created reports with sections, combined queries, sub-queries, calculation contexts, commands, user-defined objects, report folding, and crosstab calculation, making BO reports conveniently available through questions, cross tabs, and master-detail. Overall, ERP Consulting’s work with Credit Suisse aided the organization in streamlining procedures and providing better service to their clients.
DELTA DENTAL, PARSIPPANY, NJ
Delta Dental Washington is one of the largest dental benefits providers in the United States. They are annually covering 3.6 million patients across the state. As the technology evolved, they discovered that their present tools could not satisfy the needs of their constantly expanding knowledge base. Their earlier knowledge management expertise was highly segmented inside different departments. Its primary goal is to provide other people and families with high-quality dental treatment. However, managing a large client base and dental records may be challenging due to the number of patient data handled. To address this obstacle, Delta Dental intended to implement a digital customer record-keeping system to facilitate the processing of patient claims.
Delta Dental was confronted with two sorts of patient data: one that belonged to their network and the other that did not. Thus, the organization sought a solution that could efficiently manage both kinds of data and guarantee the efficient operation of the claims processing system.
To assist Delta Dental in overcoming these obstacles, our consultants performed an ERP consulting investigation to determine the optimal solution. We decided that utilizing Import Wizard to migrate the existing 122 reports from Business Objects 6.5 to Business Objects Xi2 and two Universes would be the optimal method.
The dental insurance company digitized the tracking and maintenance of customer records for seamless patient claim processing. Two types of patient data are handled – one that belongs to the Delta Dental network and the other that doesn’t belong to its network.
By deploying user-friendly technology, we led the transformational journey of Delta Dental and made all the processes for data tracking smooth.
While working with Delta Dental, our team of experts migrated 122 reports from Business Objects 6.5 to Business Objects Xi2 and two Universes by using Import Wizard. We developed 200 canned complexes and 150 ad hoc reports using Dski, Webi, and Voyager reporting components. The challenging task of developing many Voyager reports from Microsoft SQL Server 2005 OLAP Cubs was successfully accomplished by our team.
To simplify thing, we developed 50 drive tables to resolve complex business rules and created joins, contexts, and aliases to resolve loops. The integrity of the Universes was maintained regularly. We used @Functions such as @Prompt – to restrict return values and to enter prompt, @Select – to reuse the select statement of another object, and @Variable – to restrict the currently logged user. Our solution streamlined Delta Dental’s patient claim processing system and enabled them to provide quality dental care services to their customers.
